Our Managing Director, Polo Ruesz, recently had the honor of participating in SONIK Sessions and experiencing the vibrant Fête de la Musique in the Philippines. This trip held particular significance, following Live Promotions’ co-organization of Bangkok World Music Day (Fête de la Musique) in Thailand on June, and acknowledging Fête de la Musique’s impressive 30-year legacy in the Philippines.
SONIK Sessions, powered by CreatePhilippines and held as part of Fête de la Musique’s 31st anniversary, is a platform that brings together Asian creatives, French cultural delegates, and Filipino artists. With its theme “Un Monde” (One World), it aims to delve into the future of Filipino music on global stages, discuss creative policies, and strategize for music export, ultimately working to elevate Filipino sound worldwide and celebrate the intersection of Filipino creativity, music technology, and the global creative economy.
Polo was a panelist on “Exporting Filipino Sound: The Roadmap to Global Success,” which was a great opportunity to share insights on how artists can break into the international market, drawing from his own experiences.
Beyond the formal sessions, he enjoyed diving into the vibrant music scene of the Philippines, meeting many passionate people and discovering some incredible talent that he hopes to bring to Thailand someday soon.
He’s excited to bring back what he’s learned and continue exploring new ways to connect artists with global opportunities.
