Metronaut: Music education, Technology, and Collaboration in Southeast Asia

Metronaut, developed by Antescofo, is a music practice app that includes thousands of interactive music sheets and AI-driven playalongs, helping musicians progress in a fun yet demanding way. It is used by amateur musicians, teachers, schools and institutions all around the world to explore new ways of practicing, learning and performing music. To make the experience even more convenient for local users, the app is now also available in Thai language.

As Metronaut started exploring Southeast Asia, the goal was not just to introduce a tool, but to understand how music is created, taught, and performed in the region. Each country has its own scenes, habits, and communities, and music technology needs to fit naturally into these environments.

This is where collaboration became essential. Local partners, artists, institutions, and cultural organizations all play a role in shaping how new technologies are received. Live Promotions supports Metronaut as one of these local partners, helping connect the project with people, places, and ideas across Southeast Asia.

From Technology to Practice

Through meetings, workshops, and creative exchanges, Metronaut is experienced as more than software. It becomes a practical creative tool used in live performances, educational settings, and artistic experiments. These moments allow musicians and institutions to explore how technology can support their own artistic goals.

Metronaut’s presence in Southeast Asia is growing step by step, through real relationships, shared experiences, and concrete use cases. The focus is on long-term collaboration, not quick visibility, allowing the project to develop in a way that respects local cultures and creative practices.

This collaboration reflects a broader approach to:

  • music technology in Southeast Asia
  • cultural exchange and creative collaboration
  • contemporary and experimental music projects
  • connecting international innovation with local creative ecosystems

Metronaut’s journey in the region shows how music technology can grow through dialogue and collaboration, becoming part of a living creative ecosystem rather than standing apart from it.
