On Saturday, June 14th, 2025, over 7,000 people gathered at One Bangkok and Alliance Française to celebrate Bangkok World Music Day. This free music festival, celebrating Bangkok’s music community, featured 5 stages, 28 artists from diverse genres, and 11 hours of World DJ sets. It became a significant multi-generational celebration, blending cultures and genres, attracting families, music lovers, tourists, and curious attendees to a vibrant display of diversity and creativity in the heart of the city.
Live Promotions BKK was honored to collaborate with the French Embassy in Thailand, One Bangkok, and Alliance Française in producing this year’s World Music Day. The 2025 edition marked a major milestone for Bangkok’s cultural landscape, uniting thousands through the universal language of music.

The goal was to make music accessible to everyone, boost opportunities for both emerging and established local and international artists, and inspire the next generation of musicians.
We aimed to build a cultural experience rooted in music, openness, community, and celebration.
How It Started: A Simple Idea, a Bold Vision
It began modestly: inspired by France’s Fête de la Musique, a cultural celebration born in 1982 from a bold idea: music should be everywhere, and free for everyone. Every June 21st, streets, parks, and public spaces across France, and now the world, come alive with the sounds of both amateur and professional musicians. It’s more than a festival; it’s a global movement that opens up access to music and transforms cities into open-air stages for all to enjoy.
In Thailand, this vision is carried forward by the French Embassy, together with One Bangkok and Alliance Française, with Live Promotions BKK proudly contributing as a production and coordination partner. Together, we’ve built a vibrant, inclusive festival that brings world-class music to everyone, free of charge.
Building the Line-Up

Curating the line-up was a mission: not just to entertain, but to showcase artists from Thailand that the world needs to hear. Most artists were discovered by the Live Promotions team in Bangkok’s live music scene. Every act was chosen for one reason: they’re export-ready.
“We’re not just booking acts,” says Polo Ruesz, founder of Live Promotions. “We’re building bridges. These artists belong on international stages.”
Alliance Française contributed their own curated selection for their indoor stage, while Parade Square featured emerging and cross-genre acts. Together, the programming was one of the most diverse and well-balanced line-ups Bangkok has seen in a long time.
The Jambox Session
One of the most talked-about moments of the night wasn’t planned down to the second—it was improvised. At the Chang Canvas Stage, musicians from different continents and traditions came together during the Jambox Live Jam Session.

Picture this:
Two MCs, from Cameroon and the UK
A jazz drummer and pianist from Emile Londonien
A French bass player
A Thai Phin (traditional lute) guitarist
What followed was a genre-defying performance, blending molam riffs, jazz rhythms, and multilingual freestyle into something that felt truly electric. The Thai crowd erupted as they saw foreign musicians reinterpret Thai sounds in real-time. It was more than fusion, it was respect, curiosity, and creation on the spot.
DJ Line-Up: Bangkok’s Global Sound on Display

From UK garage to Japanese electronic, the Wireless Club stage featured 11 DJs with roots from around the world—but all based in Bangkok. Curated in collaboration with French DJ Matsa, the programming was a sonic journey across continents.
Busking Stages

Because music should be made by the people and for the people, we created an open Busking Zone, a space where aspiring musicians, singer-songwriters, and street performers could step up and share their sound. This vibrant corner gave emerging talent the freedom to perform right in the heart of Bangkok.
More than just a performance space, the Busking Zone embodied the true spirit of Fête de la Musique: music that is free, open, and everywhere. It brought our vision to life in the most authentic way: Bring the beats to the heart of Bangkok.
What’s Next?

It’s been an incredible journey, and as we look ahead, our hopes for next year are bigger and brighter. We envision an even more expansive event, stretching beyond a single day to a two-day edition in 2026, with a more international lineup while staying rooted in Thai musical identity. The Governor of Bangkok attended and declared it a model event that should spread across the city.
This event is becoming a platform for talent, a meeting point for cultures, and a symbol of what a city like Bangkok can offer when creativity is made accessible to all. Free access. No gates. No barriers. Just inspiration, especially for the next generation of artists.
